Cost of Permanent Laser Hair Removal

I was interested to find out for myself what the cost of permanent laser hair removal treatment was, so I went on and did a good search. I know now that there is no straight answer to this question. It just depends on so many variables. Below I made a list of these with a short explanation of each of them.

The first thing to consider is the fact that prices vary with location. Laser hair removal treatments cost the most on the east and west coast. In contrary the cheapest service you can get in the south.

Next, different laser treatment clinics have different policies for determining the prices of their services – some of them charge flat fees, some charge by the number of time segments spent on you, or some will charge you a certain amount per each laser pulse.

The difference in the skin tone and the hair color is of great importance for determining the price also. Laser hair removal procedures work best for people with lighter skin and darker hair. The reason being laser light needs dark color to work efficiently – dark colors absorb light. So, if you are fair-skinned and have dark hair you should expect to pay less.

With this said you should also know that there are new laser machines that are emerging on the market, which are more efficient in removing hair in fair skinned people. So, nowadays almost everybody can be accommodated.

Another thing to consider is how big in size is the area you want the hair removed from. If the area is larger you should expect to pay more. Example: hair removed from the back will cost significantly more than hair removed from the upper lip.

Apart from that different body areas will require different number of laser treatments for more permanent effect. Another example: back area might require as many as 7 – 8 treatments whereas a permanent upper lip hair removal might need not more than 4 or 5.

Not only does the size of the treated area matter but also the thickness of the hair. In general people with thicker hair will pay more compared to people with less thick hair. The reason is simple – more time and more laser impulses will be spent on such an area.

So far I laid down the common rules for determining the cost. But I know you want to see all what we spoke about expressed in dollar signs. Here are some examples of what you should expect to pay for some laser hair removal procedures.

It is determined that the average price for one laser hair removal session is about $360 but it can cost as much as $750. As I said earlier a successful and permanent hair removal will require at least several visits at the clinic, which means you should expect a cost of at least $3500 for a complete back hair removal procedure. And perhaps that’s the cheapest you can go for that type of treatment. The same procedure can run as high as $6000 in some locations.

If this sounds like a lot then there are other options for permanent hair removal. Visit this site to find out what they are.
